Cut flowers last a week. A phalaenopsis orchid blooms for six to eight weeks, sometimes longer. If you do the maths on cost-per-day-of-bloom, an orchid subscription is significantly better value than a cut flower subscription — you just have to be willing to keep the same plant on display for longer than seven days.
How the Rotation Works
On the first day, we bring you a beautiful flowering phalaenopsis that flowers in your environment for 3 to 6 weeks. Once it starts to die, we collect the plant, give you a new flowering phalaenopsis with a different colour, and take the old plant back to the nursery to re-flower.
There is no need to be an orchid expert; there is no need for you to re-pot, fertilize, and encourage flowering — these are done by us at the nursery. Just enjoy your six to eight weeks of one flowering plant and then enjoy another six to eight weeks of another plant.

Why An Orchid Subscription Beats A Cut Flower Subscription On Value
A weekly subscription will provide around 52 flower arrangements per year. Each flower arrangement lasts fresh for about 5 to 7 days. Total number of blooming days per year: 365 days, but most of the bloom days occur within the first half-year of the subscription.
A phalaenopsis subscription provides about 6 rotations per year. Each orchid plant stays blooming for 3 to 6 weeks. Total number of blooming days per year: 360 days plus; each rotation break is only a few hours long.
If we consider value for money based on number of blooming days per dollar, orchid plants have the edge over cut flowers. The cut flower subscription offers better variety; the orchid subscription beats the cut flower subscription in number of blooming days.
We’re not here to tell you not to buy cut flowers. We also sell cut flowers. What we’re trying to point out is that there’s a tradeoff, which shouldn’t be ignored.

Will it survive in my aircon?
No. Phalaenopsis is one of the rare types of flowering plants that can grow well inside an air-conditioned environment in Singapore offices and houses. They adapted to such conditions with moderate temperatures, indirect sunlight, and low humidity. Hence, most high-end hotels have phalaenopsis on their table displays.
How much water does it require?
A little bit once a week. Two tablespoons of water are needed around the base of the plant.
Should there be any problems such as leaf discoloration or bud loss upon your receiving, please inform us immediately. The plant will be replaced on the next working day free of charge.

Why phalaenopsis and no other type of orchid?
Only phalaenopsis orchids have proven to reliably rebloom under commercial circumstances,
adapt to Singapore air-con and last six weeks or longer per bloom cycle. Dendrobium and oncidium
varieties are available upon special request; however, they have shorter bloom periods and we do not use
them in our regular rotation cycles.
What size of pot does it come in?
An elegant ceramic neutral pot. Comes in black, white or stone. Choose which one at signup time.
We never send orchids in plastic nursery pots, the plant is potted in its final display pot ready for
placement.
What happens to my old plant after we switch it out?
We bring your used plant to our nursery for recuperation and subsequent flowering. Phalaenopsis orchids have the ability to bloom several times throughout their lifetime if cared for correctly, which is why we rotate the same plants among our subscribers. This is how orchid subscriptions become more sustainable than they seem.
How can I keep a particular plant longer if I really like it?
Sure thing! Just tell us before the rotation and we will not make any substitutions. You will get charged
only for a swap that we make in reality. Many of our subscribers keep orchids for up to four or five
months if they particularly like a certain plant.
